Dara’a: Terrorist Groups Form New Coalition as Syrian Army Prepares for Imminent Operation

 

Terrorist groups in the Southern provinces of Dara’a and Quneitra formed a new coalition on Sunday amid the Syrian Army’s preparedness to launch an imminent large-scale operation to end militancy in the Southern part of the country.

The army dispatched a large number of fresh forces and a large volume of military hardware to Dara’a city and its countryside and Quneitra province in recent days as a prelude for kicking off an imminent operation against the terrorist groups in Southern Syria.

In the meantime, the army issued last warnings to the terrorists, calling on them to lay down arms and join reconciliation plan.

Field sources, meantime, reported that several terrorist groups, including Ahrar al-Nowa, Shahid Jamil Abu al-Zein, al-Maqawir al-Khasa and Abna al-Joulan embarked on forming a new coalition named Jeisha al-Anqaz to face the army’s upcoming operation.

Field sources reported on Saturday that the army men were preparing to launch a large-scale operation against terrorists in Dara’a province and Northern Sweida bordering Dara’a province which is under the occupation of the Al-Nusra front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) and other terrorist groups.

The sources further said that the Russian and Syrian fighter jets, the entire units of the army, including the Elite Forces, would take part in the upcoming operation.

Other sources reported on Friday that the Russian and Syrian forces warned the terrorists in Mohaja, Abta’a and Da’el regions to lay down arms and surrender before the start of the operation.

Also, local sources reported that the army has distributed hundreds of leaflets in the town of Ankhal, calling on the militants to hand over their arms and apply for government amnesty.
