Boroujerdi: Foreign Ministry must take legal action against US

Foreign Ministry should take legal against the United States for raising propaganda campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Chairman of Parliamentary Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Sunday.

He told reporters that the US allegation that Iran had hired a Mexican drug cartel to kill Saudi ambassador to Washington is a clumsy scenario to the extent that the international analysts deride.

Boroujerdi said, “The US made every endeavor to stir up Iranophobia from the beginning of victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran; but, the security and political agreements between Iran and neighboring countries proved that Tehran seeks regional peace and security.”

Boroujerdi expressed concern over that Saudi Arabia falling into trap set by the US Administration and giving positive signals to the White House pressure.

“Iran, itself is a victim of terrorism and terror has no place in the Islamic Republic policy; the whole world including Saudi and Americans know this very well,” he added.

Answering a question about US officials’ claim that a meeting took place between Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Khazaee and US officials, Boroujerdi said that no such a meeting took place and said that the US officials have refused to handover feedback to Iranian government about the allegation over assassination of the Saudi ambassador.

Answering a question about UN Rapporteur’s report on Iran human rights record, Boroujerdi said that since Ahmed Shaheed was on mission to make a pre-composed report on violation of human rights in Iran, he was not allowed to enter the country.

“The ill-suited structure of UN is the reason of alleged reports on human rights violation in Iran without considering the real violation of human rights in US,” Boroujerdi said.

On June 17, the UN Council on Human Rights appointed former Maldivian Foreign Minister Ahmed Shaheed to the position of UN special rapporteur on human rights to Iran.

The Human Rights Council founded in 2006 as part of the United Nations replaces the Commission on Human Rights. It is highly under the US influence.

Iranian Permanent Representative to United Nations has protested to the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President of the UN Security Council Mrs. Ogawu and President of the United Nations General Assembly Mr. Nasser against the US warmongering policies by initiating fabricated accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Foreign Ministry on Saturday held the US Administration responsible for escalation of tension and violating international security by initiating baseless allegation that Iran wanted to kill Saudi ambassador to Washington by Mexican drug cartel.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that documenting on an Iranian national who lived in the United States for 16 years and his liaison with a Mexican drug cartel have no legal validity.
