President lambasts corrupt systems governing the world


President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here on Sunday that corrupt rulers and unfair systems governing the globe are main reasons behind spread of corruption throughout the world.

The President made the remark in a meeting with participants in the meeting of the heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states.

He reiterated that the capitalist system and the corrupt capitalists ruling the world are root cause of the existing corruption, adding that confronting such a corrupt system is the responsibility of all people.

President Ahmadinejad added that violation of rights of oppressed people is another cause of corruption spread in the world.
Condemning massacre of nearly one million people in Afghanistan and Iraq by US forces, he stressed that the US invasion resulted in annihilation of a nation and expansion of poverty and backwardness in the region.

The President noted that use of US dollar in trade exchanges is the main cause of economic corruption in the world.

He stressed that the clue of drug trafficking and terrorism is in the hands of the bullying powers, adding that some 500 tons of narcotic drugs were produced in Afghanistan before invasion of the country by NATO forces while the amount has increased to 9,000 tons at the present time.

The al-Qaeda leader Bin Laden had been in hands of the US military forces long before he was killed, he said, adding that he was killed for US election campaign.
Ahmadinejad underlined the need for collective efforts to eradicate any probable corruption and unfair approach in the Islamic countries.

The first meeting of heads of ECO anti-corruption bodies opened in Tehran on Saturday.

During the two-day event, ways of fostering cooperation between anti-corruption bodies and human rights institutions of ECO member states were discussed. It provides a platform to discuss ways to improve development and promote trade, and investment opportunities.
