President Pezeshkian: Alterations to regional geopolitical borders deemed ‘unacceptable’
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that the nation remains steadfast in its refusal to acknowledge any alterations to regional geopolitical borders.

During discussions held in Tehran on Monday with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Pezeshkian emphasized that safeguarding the territorial integrity of countries in the region remains a cornerstone of Tehran’s foreign policy.
“Alterations to borders within the region are deemed wholly unacceptable. In light of recent activities by external powers, it is imperative for countries within the region to enhance unity and cohesion, while proactively avoiding any form of conflict.”
He stated that Iran is aiming to strengthen ties with other Muslim nations to enhance the collective influence and power of the Muslim world.
“The initiative aims to foster both domestic consensus and empathy while actively pursuing strengthened relations with neighboring and Muslim nations.”
It is our conviction that any internal conflict among Muslims could potentially encourage adversaries to intervene and exacerbate tensions.

He emphasized Tehran’s eagerness to enhance its relations with Baku across multiple sectors, including political, economic, cultural, defense, and security domains.
He emphasized the critical need for swiftly eliminating barriers in the trade and transportation sectors and expressed Tehran’s openness to sharing expertise with Baku.

He described his discussions with Iranian officials in Tehran as highly productive and extended an invitation from the Azerbaijani President for his Iranian counterpart to visit Baku at the earliest opportunity.
