Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, today hailed the upcoming presidential polls in Iran as harbinger of greater successes for the revolution and the system of government.

According to IRIB, in his address to cadets of Imam Husain University in Tehran, suggesting that people pay proper attention to the statements and slogans of the candidates in order to elect the most qualified person, also advised candidates to observe ethics and avoid mudslinging or character assassination of rivals.
The Leader said: “By the Grace of God, tomorrow this country and its people will usher in a brilliant and dignified future by presenting a role model for all.”
He added: “People’s participation at the ballot boxes, which is indicative of the nation’s powerful presence on the scene and striving toward the ideals, will definitely pave the ground for dignity, immunity and international credibility; it will gladden the friends and disappoint the enemies.”
On the feverish propaganda of the ill-wishers to try to create a sense of despondency amongst the Iranian people against participating in the polls, Ayatollah Khamenei stated: “The reason for such propaganda is the fact that if the people enter the scene enthusiastically it will be costly for the foes.”

He also noted that such dubious persons are expressing views about Iran whose Guantanamo prison, drone attacks on deprived villages in Pakistan and Afghanistan, warmongering in the region and unconditional support for the criminal Zionist entity, have already brought shame and indignity upon them.
Stressing that such criticism of the proud Islamic Republic doesn’t deserve any reply or reaction by the Iranian nation and officials, Ayatollah Khamenei said: “But these remarks serve as lessons for each individual of the nation, for; it indicates the high momentum of the election for them.”
