Projected Message in London Urges Nigerian Gov’t to Free Sheikh Zakzaky

A video message projected by Inminds Human Rights Group on the wall of Big Ben in London demands the release of Islamic Movement in Nigeria’s (IMN) leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife.

In a video posted on Twitter on Sunday, an activist IshmaelAbubakar wrote that the video was projected on Big Ben in London last night, asking for freedom of Nigeria’s (IMN) leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife.

Sheikh Zakzaky has been in detention for nearly four years.

The Shiite leader has been imprisoned at an unknown location without charge since he was detained by security forces in 2015 after the Nigerian army carried out a raid on his residence in the northern town of Zaria during which he lost his left eyesight.

Back in 2016, Nigeria’s federal high court ordered his unconditional release from jail following a trial but the government has so far refused to set him free.
