“Prospect of Islam’s Mission” compiled by Seyyed Qutb

“Islam va al-Moshkat al-Hezareh” is one of the most important works of Seyyed Qutb which was translated in Persian by Supreme Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei in 1970 under the title of “A (true) Claim against Western Civilization and a Prospect of Islam’s Mission” Supreme Leader also penned a preface on the book noting industry and technology, are of their nature, good but the telling point is West has no spirituality; given that everything is imitated and artificial there.

The book depicts how human and humane features have been destroyed in the wake of western civilization illustrating the incompatibility of Western civilization with human beings.

“Every step in the evolution of science and technique is admirable, but human and humane feature should be held as ultimate objective, and all of these (science and technology) should be used for human kind’s perfection and prosperity,” underscored the Supreme Leader.

“The Industry that knocks man, and the science or technology that crushes a man’s humane features under its wheels are not honorable,” pointed out Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei highlighting the as such knowledge is not a friend but an enemy.

“This knowledge is not humans’ servants but a traitor,” stressed Supreme Leader noting this knowledge should be discarded as soon as possible.

It is noteworthy that Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei in the preface of the book discussed the following topics:
“Ego-death or lack of identity, the scourge of the World of Islam”; “Western civilization, a reality against the school of monotheism and humanity”; “The incompatibility of Western civilization with human beings”;  “The decline of Western civilization”; “Islam as a Solution”.

Agreed with the opinion of Seyyed Qutb in rejecting western schools, Supreme Leader writes,
“To Seyyed Qutb, the true solution stands in divine Islam and trying other paths would be fruitless going nowhere and cannot help human beings.”

Only Islam, this divine religion, which of its nature has been created by perfect science, power and wisdom of God Almighty, can lead humans to science, power and wisdom.

Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei held Ego-death as the scourge of the World of Islam and in that preface stressed, “This is the result of our story; the tragic story of people who forgot themselves plundering their own precious heritage and destroying what they have gained over centuries.”

The Supreme Leader went on to stress, “Instead of their own rich, deep rooted and original civilization, they went after others schools and lifestyle.”

“And even the strangers felt so sorry for them, let alone to the acquaintances. Given that, it is beyond a shadow of doubt that the main setback the World of Islam has been wrestling with over centuries was their Ego-death and lack of identity,” Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei concluded.
