Islamic Republic of Iran stands presented bolder today: President

President Ahmadinejad who was taking part at a press conference at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport added that the objective of the IRI Presidential Delegation’s visit to New York and presence at the UN this year was announcing the stands of the Islamic Republic of Iran, holding bilateral talks with heads of states on regional and international developments, and participating in interviews with US media giants.

“The social meetings and dialogues were held with groups of think tanks and university folks, with influential personalities in US economy, and the interesting point was that everyone was disappointed with the status quo there and no one was pleased with the conduct of the US officials, he reiterated.

“In the year 2005 during my visit to New York I objected the status quo of the world order there, and there were three, or four world leaders who were pro drastic changes in the status quo, but today everyone is demanding serious changes in the status quo,” Ahmadinejad added.

He said, “Due to these kinds of demands and protests in Islamic lands and in North America where the people are severely opposed to the status quos, a great movement has already taken shape.”

“Today the stands of the Iranian nation are presented in the world much bolder and negative stands are not adopted against our stands. A group was disappointed, and it was predictable, but those who were addressed did not find any faults in our stands,” President Ahmadinejad stressed.

Elsewhere in his comments in the press conference, the President evaluated the world media’s encounters with the stands of the Islamic Republic as “positive”.

The Iranian President who has during this trip visited Mauritania and Sudan as well and held talks with their Presidents said focusing on the matter that Mauritania has very intimate ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding, “My visit was in response to the visit of President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of Tehran.”

He said that Iran and Mauritania are cooperating in such fields as agriculture, industries, mines, and commerce.

On his visit of Sudan, too, the President reiterated, “Sudan is among the most important African countries and the people of Sudan and Iran have very close cultural ties.”

“The stands of the two countries at the international scenes, too, are quite close to each other and the two countries’ officials have consultations on regional developments,” he added.

“In Sudan, we reviewed the shared projects and programs which we are pursuing with them, and held talks with people of different walks of life, including university students, religious Ulema, scientists, and think tanks,” IRI President concluded.
