Qassam Brigades: Al-Aqsa Storm operation a decisive blow to the zionist regime

The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, has expressed appreciation to Iran, Lebanon's Hezbollah, Yemen's Armed Forces, and the Iraqi Resistance for their backing of the Gaza Strip. According to Hamas, the recent military action, dubbed Operation al-Aqsa Storm, represents a significant blow to the sustainability of the Israeli regime.

Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military faction, delivered a statement in a recorded speech on Sunday. This announcement followed the implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Israeli authorities and the resistance group in the Gaza Strip.

“Operation al-Aqsa Storm, which commenced from the periphery of Gaza, has significantly altered the regional dynamics and reshaped the conflict with the occupying force. It has opened new fronts in the battle and compelled the entity to seek assistance from international powers,” he stated.

A spokesperson announced that Hamas, along with various resistance factions, displayed unified efforts throughout the Gaza Strip, delivering critical strikes against opposing forces. The spokesperson highlighted the valor and courage exhibited by these groups, even as they battled under extremely challenging conditions until the final hours of the conflict.

He further emphasized that “any efforts to assimilate the Zionist entity into the region will encounter significant resistance,” underlining that all strategies and initiatives should concentrate on countering “this adversarial presence.”

Abu Ubaida asserted that the significant sacrifices made by Palestinians over the course of 15 months amidst Israel’s severe actions in Gaza “will not be forgotten.” He emphasized that Operation al-Aqsa Storm has critically undermined the Israeli regime, suggesting that the occupying force is now facing an inevitable demise.

He additionally urged mediators to compel the Israeli government to comply with the ceasefire agreement, while reaffirming the commitment of Hamas and other resistance factions to uphold the truce.

Earlier this week, Israel consented to a ceasefire, acquiescing to terms that have been a mainstay of Hamas’ negotiation strategy.

The ceasefire agreement is structured into three distinct phases, with each phase spanning 42 days. Discussions concerning the commencement of the second and third phases are scheduled to start 16 days following the initiation of the first phase.

In the initial phase of the agreement, approximately 1,900 Palestinian detainees are set to be released in exchange for 33 Israeli hostages currently held in the Gaza Strip. This phase also stipulates the commencement of the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Philadelphi corridor, also referred to as the Salah al-Din axis, situated along the Gaza-Egypt border.

On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a significant military operation in Gaza following a notable offensive by Hamas. The action by Hamas was described as a response to what they consider increased aggressive actions against Palestinians by Israel.

The Tel Aviv administration did not meet its stated goals of liberating captives and dismantling Hamas, despite the reported deaths of nearly 47,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, in the Gaza region.
