Rafsanjani: Regional countries should form a think-tank to thwart the complicated plots

Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Saturday that regional countries should form a think-tank to thwart the complicated plots in the region.

Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with the members of the Expediency Council.

A stable and powerful Iran plays significant role to neutralize the regional crisis, he said.

Deplorable developments in the region mainly in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon along with the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Zionists in Gaza Strip have wounded the sentiments of all Muslims, he said.

The world of Islam whether Shia or Sunni should jointly help resolve the current crisis created by extremist and terrorist groups and the Zionist occupiers, he said.

Savage crimes of Daesh terror group in Iraq and Syria are very painful stemming from very complicated plots hatched against the whole Muslim World and aiming to defame their image, he said.

He said that the Takfiri terrorist groups try to spread panic through magnifying events to sow discord among world Muslims.

Their actions are in line with the policies of the enemies mainly the Zionist regime which requires more vigilance and unity of the Muslim World to thwart the mishap phenomenon, Rafsanjani said.

To seriously deal with the issue it is incumbent upon all governments in the region to form a think-tank to thwart plots hatched by the enemies, he said.

He made clear that under any circumstances the advance of the terrorist groups should be prevented.

He said the atrocities perpetrated by the terrorist groups merely bring bloodshed and carnage of innocent civilians.

The Islamic Republic of Iran should uphold its brilliant stand in regional developments and help resolve the issue, he said.

He expressed the hope that under the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader, the current difficulties would be addressed.

On regional developments including Palestine and Gaza, he said the world is now witnessing barbaric crimes in that region and regretfully many countries in the region along with international organizations mainly the UN have kept mum to the human tragedy, he said.

People in Gaza through their brave resistance proved that they are true believers as the Almighty God never let the rights and blood of the oppressed nations go in vain, Rafsanjani said.
