Region will see security without US: minister

Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Monday that security will be established in the region without the US.

He said that the Americans are willing to stay in the region but the Middle East will never experience peace in presence of the US troops.

Commenting on the ministry’s plans to build military equipment, he said that they are aimed at strengthening the country’s defense capability and power of deterrence.

The missiles delivered to the Iran’s armed forces will soon be test-fired in the military exercises which will be held soon, he noted.

Vahidi contended that the US and western countries are trying to transform the region to an arms stockpiles center for their own and that’s why they wage propaganda against Iran’s defense equipment industries.

He said that the US propaganda against Iran aimed to divert the public attention away from their own military intervention in the region.
