The vice-president of the Middle-East’s largest car manufacturer, Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO), announced that his company will export 30,000 sets of cars abroad in this Iranian year (March 2015-March 2016).
“We had set the export target of 20,000 sets last year, however due to sanctions, exchange fluctuations and problems in opening LC the company exported 7000 sets only,” Ali Elmi, IKCO’s Deputy CEO for exports said.

According to Elmi, cars with IKCO brand specify a noticeable share of the company’s export to themselves. IKCO Samand and IKCO Soren are already being exported to Iraq, Azerbaijan, Ivory Coast and Venezuela.

Referring to the company’s strategy in respect with its overseas car assembling sites, he declared, “IKCO board is determined to keep these sites that have been previously invested on running. CKD cars are assembled in these four sites, which present technical and engineering services as well.”

In the meantime, IKCO has successfully received the Tunisian Standard Institute’s approval to export Runna to this country.

“We wish to restart exporting cars to Egypt and we have discussed the conditions to export to Algeria as well. IKCO enjoys a relative advantage in the markets of Azerbaijan, Iraq and Ukraine and considers export to Nigeria and Ivory Coast as well,” claimed IKCO deputy CEO.
