Zionist Airstrikes Strike Two Southern Lebanon Buildings Amid Ceasefire Violation

Zionist warplanes launched an airstrike targeting two buildings in southern Lebanon, further unsettling the already fragile ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Arab nation.

Reports from Lebanese media indicate that an Israeli drone launched guided missiles targeting homes in the southern town of Kfar Kila early Sunday morning.

There have been no immediate reports concerning potential casualties or the scope of the damage incurred.

According to Lebanon’s official National News Agency, an Israeli military offensive targeted the eastern flank of the occupied Kfar Shuba region, resulting in damage to several cars and homes. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

Israeli military aircraft conducted operations over the Western Bekaa region in southeastern Lebanon, generating sonic booms as they broke the sound barrier twice. The resultant shockwaves were audible in the Chouf and Aley districts of Mount Lebanon.

In a recent development, an Israeli helicopter deployed two sound bombs targeting a civilian gathering in Yaroun, situated in the Bint Jbeil district.

In a separate incident, a patrol belonging to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was fired upon by the Israeli army on Saturday afternoon near the Blue Line, the demarcation that divides Lebanon from the northern region of the Israeli-occupied territories.

UNIFIL peacekeepers have reported that warning shots were discharged by the Israeli military, utilizing a machine gun, across the Blue Line. This information was confirmed in a statement by UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti.

An incident unfolded during a planned reconnaissance patrol in the vicinity of the village of Rmeish in southern Lebanon.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that there were “no injuries” in the incident and described it as “a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.”

Furthermore, UNIFIL peacekeepers have reported an incident in which an Israeli military patrol allegedly directed laser beams at them, aiming at their bodies and eyes.

United Nations spokesperson Tenenti criticized the recent events, declaring, “Actions that jeopardize the safety of UN peacekeepers during the fulfillment of their mandated responsibilities are unacceptable. We are currently pursuing discussions with the Israeli army regarding these incidents.”

Israel has agreed to a ceasefire with Hezbollah after suffering substantial losses over nearly 14 months of hostilities, during which it could not meet its objectives in the campaign against Lebanon. The ceasefire was implemented on November 27.

Since the agreement’s inception, occupying forces have consistently launched near-daily attacks on Lebanon, violating the ceasefire with a series of airstrikes across the Arab nation.

On January 27, Lebanon announced its decision to extend the ceasefire with Israel, continuing the truce until February 18.

Despite the February 18 deadline having elapsed, Israel continues to maintain its occupation of five strategic regions in southern Lebanon. These areas include Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, situated near the border.

Lebanon has condemned the continued presence of Israeli military forces, citing it as a violation of the ceasefire agreement and the agreed-upon withdrawal schedule. Senior officials in Beirut have asserted their commitment to using “all measures” required to remove the occupying forces from the Arab nation.
