During a speech his speech in the memorial ceremony of the martyr Mohammad Nether in the Southern village of Arabsalim, Sheikh Qaouk emphasized: “This party’s clairvoyants reiterated that [Syrian] President Bashar al-Assad will not be in office by the end of 2012.”
“Today, they exchange blames and mostly blame the US because it did not meet its promises,” he said.

In parallel, His Eminence stressed, “In Syria, today, there exists a path to political resolution. However, the obstacle is Arab and regional countries that fund, incite, and arm the [so-called] opposition.”
“[Arab and regional countries] do not want political solutions, and can’t overthrow the regime, so they continue to shed the Syrian people’s blood.”
Regarding the Lebanese electoral law, Sheikh Qaouk highlighted, “March 14 wants an electoral law that suits it, and we want an electoral law suitable to the nation.”
“We want an electoral law that grants the Christians true representation, and gives all parties the opportunity to actual participation through proportionality,” he mentioned.

In this context, he clarified that “the Future Movement fears the proportionality law since it restores its party to its true worth.”
“They delay the adoption of the electoral law in bid of change in the Syrian, but this delay will not reap but delay of elections,” the top Hizbullah official added.
On the recent attack against the army in Arsal, Sheikh Qauok stressed: “This crime against the [Lebanese] Army is a crime towards the whole nation, Muslims and Christians.”
“However, it is unfortunate that the culprits are not held accountable since they own immunity,” His Eminence noted, and urged the Future Movement to lift immunity off the culprits and arrest them in addition to those who funded, incited, and armed them.”
