Resistance Labels US Gaza Aid Centers as ‘Deathtrap,’ Accuses Intent to Undermine UNRWA and Destroy Palestinian Cause

Palestinian resistance factions assert that the underlying objective of the United States establishing distribution centers in Gaza is to undermine the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and detract from the Palestinian cause.

Reports from the Palestinian Information Center indicate that certain groups issued a statement on Sunday expressing concerns that US aid distribution centers aim to undermine the Palestinian cause by transforming it from a political issue into merely a relief and humanitarian concern.

The statement highlighted that the actions of the aid centers are intended to expedite the forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and evacuation of the people of Gaza, aligning with Trump’s controversial strategies.

Palestinian resistance factions have urged increased pressure on the Israeli authorities and the United States to facilitate the renewal of humanitarian aid distribution through international organizations affiliated with the United Nations, specifically highlighting the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

According to statements, UNRWA is recognized as the sole entity qualified to provide assistance to Palestinians in Gaza, owing to its legal authority and extensive practical experience in safeguarding lives and upholding human dignity.

Israeli forces launched an attack early Monday on the Madleen ship, a humanitarian aid vessel seeking to breach Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza, as the ship neared the coastal waters of the embattled Palestinian enclave.

Thiago Avila, an activist from Brazil aboard the vessel Madleen, reported that their ship had been encircled by Israeli military vessels.

In a recent development, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has issued a stern warning to the Israeli authorities, cautioning them against any attempts to intercept the Madleen vessel. Hamas has declared that the Israeli regime will be held fully accountable for the safety and well-being of the activists on board the ship.

United Nations agencies and leading humanitarian organizations have issued a warning that Gaza faces the threat of famine unless a substantial increase in aid is facilitated. They highlight that Israeli restrictions, a collapse in law and order, and rampant looting present significant challenges in providing assistance to the approximately two million Palestinians residing in Gaza.

In a statement released on its official X account in April, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported that humanitarian assistance has not been able to reach the blockaded area following Israel’s imposition of a comprehensive aid embargo on March 2.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning, highlighting that the scarcity of food, clean water, adequate shelter, and essential medical care poses a severe threat to the survival of almost two million displaced individuals in Gaza.
