Russia’s premier raps G7 statement

Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has slammed the group of seven developed countries, also known as the G7, for backing Ukraine’s military actions in the country’s eastern parts.

According to AFP, on Thursday, Medvedev accused the G7 of adopting what he called a cynical policy toward Ukraine’s military operations in the country’s eastern provinces.

The Prime Minster also dismissed the Kiev authorities’ statement about the absence of Ukrainian refugees in Russia as “a lie.”

He said “About 3,000 people are arriving only in the Rostov Region every day. This is an unprecedented situation,” adding, about 4,000 Ukrainian citizens have asked Russia for a refugee status.

Medvedev’s comments came following a statement issued by the G7 leaders which supported Ukraine’s operations in the east, especially in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

The G7 statement also said Kiev was attempting to restore law and order in those regions.
