Senior Cleric Condemns Israel’s Brutality against Palestinians

Tehran’s provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip, and lauded Palestinian resistance groups’ performance in confrontation against the Zionist enemy.

Addressing a large and fervent congregation of worshipers here in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Khatami said that the existence of the Zionist regime of Israel “is tied to savagery”.

He added that the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, should be praised for its decisive response to Israel.

“Presently, the resistance of Gazans has turned the day into dark night for the Zionist regime and Tel Aviv has become a ghost town,” the Iranian cleric noted.

Assaults on Gaza started on Wednesday and the Israeli military launched a series of new air and sea attacks against the Palestinians in the coastal territory.

Over 25 people have been killed and more than 260 others injured in the new wave of Israeli attacks.

Also on Friday, hundred of thousands of Iranians all across the country staged demonstrations to protest Israel’s attacks on the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Iranians across the country, including in the capital Tehran, held massive anti-Israel rallies on Friday to condemn new Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

Protesters unanimously condemned Zionists’ crimes in the Palestinian occupied lands.

The people carrying placards chanted ‘Down with the US’ and ‘Down with the Israel’ and other anti-Zionist slogans.
