Envoy: Israel’s Collapse Accelerated by Mubarak’s Overthrow

A senior Iranian diplomat underlined that Hosni Mubarak’s downfall entails dire consequences for the Zionist regime of Israel.
“The Zionist regime is on the verge of collapse after Hosni Mubarak’s overthrow,” Tehran’s Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi stated.

He added that the developments in Egypt have resulted in Israel’s further inability to wage a new war on Lebanon.

“Zionist regime will never dare to attack Lebanon after Hosni Mubarak was removed from power by people,” Roknabadi told the Lebanese TV channel Akhbar al Mustaqbal.

The ambassador assured that no other 33-day war against Lebanon would come again as the one in June 2006 in which Zionist regime committed many crimes.

On February 11, Egypt’s military took power after President Hosni Mubarak resigned in a televised program due to a nationwide, 18-day series of popular protests that shook the country to its foundations.

The military rulers then suspended the constitution and dissolved the parliament. The army promised to oversee a six-month transition to democratic rule.
