Major Gen. Jafari: Iran Unconcerned by Enemy Threats

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Iran is unmoved by enemies’ war rhetoric due to its astonishing deterrent power, and specially because it has foreseen proper response for all possible scenarios.

Jafari made the remarks on the sidelines of the second day of Experts Assembly convention meeting in Tehran on Wednesday.

He referred to Iran’s deterrence power and defensive capabilities to confront enemies’ threats, and said, “We have grown so much powerful that we don’t feel concerned about the enemy’s unwise attitude. We can go past any enemy scenario, and this has been proved in our contemporary history.”

Stressing that Iran will defuse any enemy plots and scenario, whether military threats or sanctions, Jafari said, “The US should find a way to survive and continue its endangered life, but we are surprised at the enemy’s insistence on costly and useless scenarios.”

He underscored that Iran’s strategies are strong and decisive. The country has blocked enemies’ path to the materialization of its cruel plots, he said, adding that Iran now has a wide array of options and is capable of using these different options more than ever.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Jafari underlined that the US and its allies created the ISIL terrorist group to counter Iran’s increasing clout in the region, but to no avail.

The General made the remarks, addressing the Tuesday morning meeting of the Assembly of Experts which elected Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi as its new chairman.

“Major General Jafari addressed the Experts Assembly members and said Iran has gained such desirable success in dealing with regional issues that it has led to the US failure,” member of the Assembly of Experts Hojjatoleslam Ali Eslami told FNA on Wednesday.

According to Eslami, the IRGC top commander reiterated that “the victories gained by the Resistance (Front) and the Islamic Revolution are much remarkable”.

“Today, not only in Palestine and Lebanon but also the Iraqi and Syrian people admit the Islamic Revolution’s influential role and appreciate the Iranian nation in this regard, despite enemy propaganda” and attempts to create discord among the Arabs and Iranians, the two nations (of Iran and Iraq) had come much closer to each other, Jafari was quoted as saying by Eslami.

“Major General Jafari also underscored that we have had tangible progresses in the defense sector,” he added.
