Sayyed Nasrallah thanks Iran for supporting regional nations, resistance groups

The secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has expressed his gratitude to Iran for its “steadfast” support for peoples and resistance movements in the region.
During a meeting with Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani on Tuesday, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah thanked Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as well as the Iranian government and nation, for their unwavering pro-resistance stance in defiance of sanctions and threats.
He also renewed his condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a helicopter crash last month.
During the meeting, Nasrallah and Bagheri Kani discussed the latest political and security developments in the region, particularly those of the Gaza and Lebanon fronts.
The acting Iranian foreign minister traveled Monday to Lebanon, where he met with Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri.
He also paid tribute to Nasrallah’s mother, Mahdiyya Safi al-Din, who recently passed away, at her burial site.
The Lebanon visit was the first leg of a regional tour by the top Iranian diplomat that also took him to Syria on Tuesday.
In Syria, he has so far held talks with the Arab country’s officials, including Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, as well as heads of Palestinian factions.
He is also scheduled to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.
Bagheri Kani had earlier said that one of the main goals of her regional tour is to boost synergy among resistance groups in their confrontation with the Israeli regime.
