A large gathering of mourners attended the funeral of Hezbollah leader Martyr Sayyed Safieddine,

Former Hezbollah secretary-general, Martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, was laid to rest in his hometown in southern Lebanon, as mourners from around the globe gathered to pay their respects.

The Hezbollah movement in Lebanon has announced that Safieddine, who served as head of the organization’s Executive Council until his death, is set to be interred in his native village of Deir Qanoun al-Naher in southern Lebanon. The burial ceremony is scheduled for Monday.

In a recent address to those gathered in mourning, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, reiterated both the Iranian nation’s and government’s steadfast support for the Lebanese populace and their resistance efforts.

Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Akhtari has pledged that Iran will maintain its support for the Lebanese people in their opposition to the Israeli government.

On Sunday, a significant assembly of mourners convened at a stadium in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, to attend the funeral ceremony of esteemed Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Safieddinel.

Approximately 1.4 million individuals, including representatives from close to 70 countries, took part in the funeral procession.

On September 27, 2024, Israeli forces reportedly conducted an operation resulting in the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah. In a subsequent action, Israel targeted and killed Hashem Safieddine on October 3, 2024.

Regional resistance groups have condemned the recent targeted killings of Hezbollah leaders by Israel, describing them as a “cowardly assassination.” They assert that these actions have only bolstered their resolve to carry on the mission in Palestine, Lebanon, and other regions.

In statements made Sunday, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem commended Hassan Nasrallah for his efforts in revitalizing the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that the Lebanese resistance organization remains committed to upholding this mission, vowing to persist along this course.

Hamas paid tribute to “the courageous and honorable stance of martyr Nasrallah,” highlighting his steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause and his efforts to establish a supportive alliance with the people in the Gaza Strip.
