Shooting incident near the zionist embassy in Jordan, one killed three injuried

In a troubling escalation of tensions, a man has been fatally shot after reportedly discharging a weapon at security forces near the Israeli embassy in Jordan. This incident unfolds against a backdrop of increasing anti-Zionist sentiment within the region.

According to a security source and reports from state media, a gunman opened fire on a police patrol unit located in the Rabiah neighborhood, in proximity to the Israeli embassy in Amman, on Sunday.

Authorities implemented a cordon around the vicinity of the highly secure embassy following reports of gunfire, as confirmed by security sources cited in media outlets. Residents were instructed to remain indoors while security personnel conducted a search for the suspect(s).

Anti-Israeli sentiment has intensified in the Arab nation following the initiation of military operations by Israel on October 7, 2023. The conflict, described by some as genocidal, is directed against the populace of the Gaza Strip in neighboring Palestine.

Previously, Jordanian security forces employed tear gas to break up demonstrators supporting Gaza as they advanced towards the Israeli embassy in Amman.

In a tragic incident in 2017, a shooting at the embassy compound resulted in the deaths of two Jordanians and left an Israeli embassy guard injured.
