Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists’ Attacks on Gov’t Positions in Lattakia

 

The Syrian army soldiers repelled terrorists’ attack on their positions in Lattakia province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on them.

The terrorists’ attacks to capture the government forces’ positions in the Northern parts of Lattakia province were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Damascus and Deir Ezzur, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in other provinces across Syria.

Lattakia

The Syrian Army troops fended off heavy offensive of a group of terrorists in the Northern territories of Lattakia province on Monday, inflicting major losses on them.

The army men warded off terrorists’ heavy assault on its positions near the town of Rabi’eh in Northern Lattakia, killing and wounding a number of them and destroying their equipment.

A military source confirmed that the entire military positions are now under the army’s control.

Deir Ezzur 

The Syrian Army troops seized the largest arms and ammunition depot of ISIL terrorists after they captured the town of al-Mayadeen in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

The army men discovered one of the largest depots of ISIL with a large volume of light and heavy arms and ammunition and a large number of military vehicles in the newly-liberated town of al-Mayadeen.

The army soldiers seized several bomb-laden and military vehicles of the ISIL in the town of Mouhassan in Southeastern Deir Ezzur as well.

Among the many weapons captured from ISIL are up-armored tanks, Humvees, improvised armored personnel carriers and heavy artillery pieces.

Syria-Iraq Border

The Syrian Army troops are about to rush towards ISIL’s main stronghold at the border with Iraq after taking control over more regions in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, field sources said Monday.

The sources said that the army men are now 70 km away from the town of Albu Kamal, the main stronghold of ISIL at the border with Iraq.

They went on to say that the army units imposed control over the village of Mahkan South of the town of al-Mayadeen after pushing the ISIL away form the town of al-Qouriyeh and its surrounding regions.

The pro-government forces have made significant gains in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, including capturing the towns of al-Mayadeen and al-Qouriyeh and the villages of Mahkan and Khusham.

The army is planning now to storm ISIL’s defense lines in Albu Kamal, one of the most important strongholds of the terrorist group in Syria.

Damascus

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units pounded the positions of a group of terrorists in Eastern Ghouta, killing all members of the group on Monday.

The artillery and missile units shelled heavily terrorists’ strongholds along the road connecting Jobar and Ein Terma regions to each other, killing all members of a terrorist group deployed in a region between al-Hoda grand mosque and Talha and Zoberi grand mosque.

Hama

The Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL and managed to capture four more villages in Northeastern Hama, militant-affiliated news websites reported on Monday.

The websites reported that Al-Nusra drove ISIL out of the villages of al-Trofai, al-Khafiyeh, al-Shahatiyeh and Jubb al-Bayz in Northeastern Hama.
