The executive director of an American think tank specializing in the Middle East affairs says Zionist regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to convince the United States to attack Iran.
The remarks by Alison Weir, journalist and executive director of If Americans Knew, in an interview with Press TV came in reaction to Netanyahu’s war rhetoric against Iran at the United Nations on Tuesday.
He added that the Zionist lobby in the United States is “still very powerful,” adding that the US media are “largely dominated by a Zionist-centric reporting.”
Weir noted that Zionist regime wields much clout with the US government “although the majority of the Americans are truthfully very tired of these wars that Israeli regime pushes us into in the Middle East,” adding, “I think Americans are starting to wake up to the power of this lobby.”
The US, Zionist regime, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Tehran has categorically rejected the allegation, noting that as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it is entitled to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
