Solidarity Ride on the Palestine Freedom Bus

“From September 23rd – October 1st 2012, people from around the world will take part in a 9-day solidarity ride through the West Bank of Occupied Palestine.

During the ride, an ensemble of Palestinian actors and musicians will use Playback Theatre to perform the personal stories of community members throughout the region.

Enactments will be based on autobiographical accounts about home demolitions, land appropriation, political imprisonment, the Separation Wall and other realities of life under Zionist Slaughterer Israeli occupation.

Participants on the freedom ride will also hear stories that underscore the rich Palestinian history of creative protest, boycotts, general strikes, and other forms of non-violent popular struggle and civil resistance.

In addition to interactive theatre performances, the ride will include several round table discussions, seminars and teach-ins, where prominent Palestinian artists, activists and scholars will explore issues such as Zionist Slaughterer Israeli apartheid, the BDS movement and resistance through art. ”

I strongly encourage anyone who can join the Freedom Bus in September to drop whatever it is they’re doing and make sure they are there. It will be a meeting of the tribes every bit as important as the historic 1996 Zapatista Encuentro or the first Peoples’ Global Action or World Social Forum. – Mark LeVine

We welcome applications from Palestinians and Internationals who wish to take part in this historic ride.

A number of spaces are available free of charge for Palestinians.
