Cuba is victim of US imperialism: Western Analyst

America’s decades-long economic sanctions against Cuba are part of wider strategy to destabilize countries that refuse to submit to US imperialism, a geopolitical analyst in New York says.
The United States uses its “soft power apparatus” to implement “regime change and or destabilization of countries that do not conform to US dictates in foreign policy and international economics,” said Eric Draitser, the founder of StopImperialism.com said.
“The United States has waged a decades-long campaign against Cuba in economic warfare, economic isolation and also various forms of subversion and destabilization,” Draitser told Press TV on Thursday.
“Cuba is a victim of US imperialism,” he said
According to a new report, the US government secretly infiltrated Cuba’s underground hip-hop scene for more than two years and tried to use musicians to create a youth movement against the Cuban government.
Documents obtained by the Associated Press show that United States Agency for International Development (USAID) indirectly recruited unwitting rappers to “break the information blockade” and build a network of young people seeking “social change” against the government of Cuba.
The operation, however, was amateurish and very unsuccessful, forcing some musicians to flee the country, and threatening Cuba’s thriving underground music community, the report says.
This recent report adds more proof to a large body of evidence of how US imperialism functions around the world, Draitser stated. There is a connection between what the US has done in Cuba and what it has done in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, Latin America and throughout the rest of the world, he added.
