Iran’s position in dialogue with 5+1 has changed since NAM summit

A member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team says Tehran’s position in nuclear dialogue with major powers have changed since the Non-Aligned Movement summit.
Iran hosted the summit of the 120-nation NAM in late August in which it expressed support for Iran’s nuclear activities in its final communiqué.

“Now, after the non-aligned summit, our negotiating position is stronger than our position before the summit,” Seyyed Abbas Araqchi told the Mehr News Agency in an exclusive interview.

Araqchi said time is on the side of Iran and that Tehran is in no hurry for a resumption of nuclear talks with the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany).

“The passage of time is to our benefit and makes the Islamic Republic stronger, therefore they (5+1 group) can wait as long as they want and we are not in hurry.”
