Syria army conducts operations against terrorists

The Syrian army has conducted successful operations against foreign-backed Takfiri militants across the country, killing many of them.

On Sunday, Syrian troops regained the control of eastern heights overlooking Rankous plain in al-Qalamoun area in the countryside of the capital Damascus, SANA reported.

According to the report, by regaining the control of the heights the militants’ supply routes between the Lebanese borders and the area have been cut off.

Syrian army units also destroyed militant hideouts in al-Muna hill.

Army units also killed many militants, destroyed their hideouts and seized their weapons in the Eastern Ghouta region and the city of Adra.

In a similar move, Syrian soldiers conducted operations in al-Ramouseh, al-Layramoun, al-Sheikh Najar and Bustan al-Basha in Aleppo, killing many militants and destroying their weapons.

The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the foreign-sponsored militants in al-Rastan, Talbiseh, Eyoun Hussein, al-Ameriyeh, al-Dar al-Kabira and al-Dwair in the countryside of Homs.

On Saturday, the Syrian army was engaged in heavy fighting against militants around a military intelligence base in the northwestern city of Aleppo.

Syria has been experiencing unrelenting militancy since March 2011. The Western powers and their regional allies — especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey — are said to be supporting the militants operating inside Syria.

Reports say that more than 150,000 people have so far been killed and millions of others displaced because of the ongoing violence.
