Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Liberates 4 Regions in Northern Hama

The Syrian army operations continue in Northwestern Hama, adding that army forces have advanced in several fronts, the Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper reported.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian army captured villages in four regions in Northwestern Hama on Tuesday during its major offensive against Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at terrorists in the region.

The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper reported that the Syrian army operations continue in Northwestern Hama, adding that army forces have advanced in several fronts.

It added that the villages of al-Qayroutiyeh, Qirateh, al-Hamirat and al-Hardaneh have been set free by the army from militants’ control, noting that heavy clashes are underway between the Syrian army forces and Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in Northwestern Hama.

Idlib

Ankara has dispatched a large number of militants to reoccupy the vital al-Qassabiyeh-al-Hobait road in Southern Idlib after its affiliated militants sustained a heavy defeat from the Syrian army in the region.

Sources close to the terrorists reported on Tuesday that hundreds of the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA) special forces and military equipment have been sent to Southern Idlib to take control of the town of al-Qassabiyeh from the Syrian army.

Meantime, a Syrian military source said that the terrorists’ supply route from the town of al-Qassabiyeh to the strategic region of al-Hobait has been cut off during the Syrian army operations on Monday, and added that the army forces plan to take back control of al-Hobait by advancing from the two fronts of Kafar Naboudeh and farms between al-Hobait and al-Qassabiyeh.

He added that the army troops have killed tens of Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at terrorists and other militants fighting under Ankara’s command during the operations to liberate al-Hobait.

Also, the Syrian army targeted the positions and moves of Tahrir al-Sham in the towns of al-Naqsir, Tarmila, Ma’arat Harmah, Ma’ar Zita, Kafar Sajnah and Ma’arat Numan in Southern Idlib with missile and artillery fire, destroying several of their positions and military vehicles.

Eastern Syria

Commanders of the US-backed Kurdish forces recently held a meeting with former Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman in line with their plan to form an autonomous region in Eastern Syria.

The Arabic-language Stepnews affiliated to the militants in Syria quoted special sources in the Syrian Democratic Forces as saying that a secret meeting has been held between the Kurdish commanders and Liberman in the town of Shaqlaveh in Erbil in the Iraqi Kurdistan region to deal with plans for regions occupied by the SDF in Northeastern Syria.

They added that Salih Muslim, the head of foreign relations for the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) party, Shahoz Hasan, the co-chair of the PYD, and Aldar Khalil, a leading figure of the Movement for a Democratic Society, were present in the meeting, saying that issues like Israel’s military support for the SDF, the US-proposed safe zone for Northeastern Syria and relations between the Kurds and Israel were also studied.

The report said that Liberman vowed extensive military support for the SDF and establishment of a no-fly zone in the SDF-occupied regions if the Kurdish national council and other Kurdish parties set up a joint command and management center.

The sources underlined that formation of the joint command and management system was agreed, adding that in case of meeting the condition, Israel will support SDF’s move to establish an autonomous region similar to the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Ties between the SDF and Israel in Syria surfaced the media earlier this year.
