Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists’ Attack on Gov’t Positions in Hama

 

The Syrian army soldiers warded off terrorists’ attack on their positions in Hama province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on them.

The terrorists’ fierce attack to capture the government forces’ positions in Southern Hama was fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

Military sources reported on Tuesday that the army troops have fended off a heavy attack of the terrorist groups in Southern Hama, killing or wounding tens of militants.

The sources said that the army men exchanged fire with a group of terrorists in Hawsh Qabibat and Qabibat al-Asi in Southern Hama and repelled the attack, inflicting major losses on the militants.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery units pounded terrorists’ movements in Satahiyat region West of the town of al-Salamiyah, preventing them from breaking through the army’s defense lines.

Also, the Syrian Air Force carried out several rounds of combat flights over the positions of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) near Kafr Zita region and close to the village of al-Arbaeen in  Northern Hama, killing tens of the militants.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops fended off a heavy offensive of the ISIL terrorist group in the Southern countryside of Damascus city as the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) and its allied militant groups have started withdrawing from the al-Qadam region, local sources reported on Tuesday.

The sources reported that the army men engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL terrorists in al-Qadam, Hajar al-Aswad and al-Thalathin street in the Yarmouk Palestinian Refugees Camp and repelled terrorists’ attacks.

The sources said that the ISIL tried to occupy the positions of other terrorist groups that had left al-Qadam for Idlib.

The sources further said that tens of ISIL terrorists, including Abu al-Majd al-Darawi, a field commander, were killed in the army’s artillery attack in Hajar al-Aswad.

Field sources said earlier on Tuesday that the first group of Al-Nusra terrorists, allied groups and their family members left al-Qadam region in Southern Damascus for Idlib in an agreement with the army.

They said that 600 militants and their family members will leave al-Qadam in the first phase of evacuation.

The total number of terrorists and their family members in al-Qadam stands at 2,000.

The militant who do not want to leave al-Qadam for Idlib are to hand over their arms and ammunition and will apply for government amnesty.

Idlib

Bashir al-Shahna, a notorious security commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) was killed in a fresh round of clashes with rival terrorists of Syria’s Tahrir Front in Idlib province, local sources disclosed on Tuesday.

Bashri al-Shahna was killed in clashes with Syria’s Tahrir Front near Ma’arat al-Nu’aman region in Idlib province, the sources said.

After intensifying clashes, the warring sides declared a two-day ceasefire to resolve their differences, they added.
