Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists’ Attacks on Gov’t Positions in Hama

 

The Syrian army soldiers repelled terrorists’ attacks on their positions in Hama province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on them.

The terrorists’ offensives to capture the government forces’ positions in Hama were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Deir Ezzur and Homs, over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in Syria’s key provinces.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops warded off a heavy attack of Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) terrorists who tried to recapture lost positions in Northeastern Hama on Tuesday.

The army men engaged in heavy fighting with Al-Nusra terrorists after they attacked the army positions in the villages of al-Shakousiyeh and Um Mayal and fended of their attack.

A large number of Al-Nusra members were killed in the failed attack and their remaining pockets were forced to retreat from the battlefield.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery units hit Al-Nusra’s positions and movements badly near the villages of Eidoun and al-Dalak West of the town of al-Salamiyah, killing a number of militants and destroying their equipment.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army troops managed to push ISIL back from almost 10 more regions in Southeastern Deir Ezzur on Tuesday, killing tens of terrorists.

The army men continued their fight against ISIL Southeast of the town of al-Mayadeen towards the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur and captured Jabal (mount) al-Narousiyeh, Tal (hill) al-Khanzir, Tal al-Bani and Moweiha al-Mowaja.

The army men also took control over the towns of al-Taresh, al-Abbas and al-Mar’ei Shamar and Shamar Farm and al-Tutehiyeh region on the Western bank of the Euphrates River.

Tens of the ISIL members were killed and a number of their military and bomb-laden vehicles and a large volume of their arms and ammunition were seized by the army men in the clashes Southeast of al-Mayadeen.

The army men are now just 13 km away from their comrades in the town of al-Asharah West of Albu Kamal.

Earlier reports said that the army troops continued to advance against ISIL in Eastern Deir Ezzur and managed to drive terrorists out of three more regions.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL along the road to al-Mayadeen and imposed control over Kharita Abbas, Shamou Farm and al-Qata’a region.

The army is about to advance along Albu Kamal road to al-Mayadeen to connect the two key towns in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

Homs

The Syrian Army’s artillery units launched heavy shelling on terrorists’ positions in Northern Homs after the terrorists breached ceasefire in de-escalation zone and targeted the positions of the pro-government forces for the third day in a row, a military source said on Tuesday.

The source said that the terrorist groups’ snipers and machineguns deployed in Northern and Northwestern Homs targeted the army positions in Jabourin region, South of the town of Talbiseh, close to the town of al-Qantou and in Hawsh Hajo region for the third day in a row, violating the ceasefire in de-escalation zone.

The source said that the army men engaged in fierce clashes with the violators of the truce.

In the meantime, the artillery units opened heavy fire at terrorists’ positions in the battlefield, killing or wounding a number of terrorists and destroying their positions and equipment.

Damascus

Abu Hazifeh Felestini, a notorious commander of the Al-Nusra Front, was killed in an offensive operation of the Syrian Army in Southwestern Damascus, field sources said on Tuesday.

The sources said that Abu Hazifeh Felestini, the field commander of Al-Nusra, was killed in battle with the army men in Beit Jinn region in Southwestern Damascus.

The sources further said that the army’s artillery and missile units targeted a military vehicle of the terrorists on the road that connects Beit Jinn to al-Mughur al-Mir, destroying the vehicle and killing its crew.

The Syrian Army men drove the Al-Nusra Front out of more positions in Southwestern Damascus and gained control over the terrorists’ main supply line in region on Monday.
