Syria in Last 24 Hours: Tens of Terrorists Killed in Foiled Attack on Syrian Army in Aleppo

The Damascus Army fended off a massive attack by Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) from Western Aleppo while simultaneously pounding military positions of other terrorists in Southern Idlib.

The Arabic-language version of the Russian Sputnik news agency quoted a Syrian military source as saying that he Syrian Army troops engaged in heavy clashes with Tahrir al-Sham terrorists who had attacked their military positions in al-Rashedeen axis in Western Aleppo.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Aleppo

he Syrian Army warded off a massive attack by Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at from Western Aleppo while simultaneously pounding military positions of other terrorists in Southern Idlib.

The Syrian Army troops engaged in heavy clashes with Tahrir al-Sham terrorists who had attacked their military positions in al-Rashedeen axis in Western Aleppo, the Arabic-language version of the Russian Sputnik news agency quoted a Syrian military source as saying.

Meantime, Sputnik said that the terrorist groups launched rocket attacks on al-Hamdanieh and New Aleppo districts.

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units also heavily pounded the terrorists’ movements all across Western Aleppo, destroying several of their key positions and a number of military vehicles, it said.

Tens of terrorists were killed and many others were wounded in clashes with the Syrian Army troops while 12 Syrian soldiers were also killed in the clashes, Sputnik added.

In Southeastern Idlib, the Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units pounded the military positions and movements of Tahrir al-Sham in the villages of Al-Sha’areh and al-Sayyadi, destroying several of their positions.

The Syrian Army attacks came in response to terrorists’ indiscriminate artillery and missile attacks on civilian areas and military zones.

Meantime, pro-militant sources said that the Turkey-backed terrorists continue to plunder the infrastructures and receive hush money from civilians in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the Ankara-backed Olive Branch militants affiliated to Turkish Army have dismantled the railway in Akbas Square town in a bid to transfer them to other areas to be sold.

Meantime, the Turkey-backed militants have also cut the trees in Meidanaki region and other villages in Bolbol region of Afrin, it added.

The SOHR also pointed to continued arrests of civilians by Ankara-backed terrorists in Afrin, and said that the al-Montaser al-Belah terrorists in Haou village in Mabatli region have made numerous arrests and released only those civilians who have paid them cash.

Syria-Turkey Border

Ringleader of Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at terrorist group Abu Mohammed Al-Jolani threatened other terrorist groups to avoid handing over Syria’s occupied territories to the Damascus Army.

Al-Jolani held a meeting with eight senior commanders of other terrorist groups, including Islamic Turkistani Party, Harasuddin and Jeish al-Izza, in Atmaeh town near the border with Turkey, the Arabic-language service of the Russian Sputnik News Agency quoted local sources in Idlib province as saying.

Tahrir al-Sham’s ringleader who attended the meeting under tight security measures strongly warned commanders of other terrorist groups that they would be regarded as traitors if they hand over any region under any agreement to the Syrian Army, warning of Tahrir al-Sham’s revenge and lethal blow.

Meantime, al-Jolani also asked other terrorist commanders to put their militants on a state of full alert and keep their bomb-laden suicide vehicles prepared for operation.

Al-Jolani, who was attending his first meeting after two months, was accompanied by three Turkish-speaking militants in the meeting with other notorious terrorist commanders.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army fended off ISIL’s attack on their military positions to East of Deir Ezzur, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on the terrorists.

The ISIL terrorists attacked the Syrian Army’s military positions from Eastern Euphrates region which is under the occupation of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The Syrian Army engaged in heavy clashes with the ISIL terrorists who were intending to penetrate into the army’s military points in Hawija Sahin in al-Saiwieh in Eastern Deir Ezzur from the SDF-controlled Tal Jahfeh al-Baqouz in Eastern Euphrates.

Meantime, the Syrian Army troops pounded the terrorists’ military positions and movements in the surrounding areas of the conflict zone, thwarting their offensive and inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.

Meantime, the local sources in Eastern Deir Ezzur said that tens of ISIL elite militants and several of their senior commanders are stationed in Eastern Euphrates despite US claims that ISIL’s presence had ended their presence there.

Hasaka

Children’s death toll has considerably risen in al-Hawl refugee camp on the US-controlled territory in Southeastern Hasaka as the displaced population sheltered in the camp is suffering aggravating hygiene conditions, a pro-militant website reported.

The SOHR reported that at least seven children have lost their lives in al-Hawl Camp in recent days as the hygienic and health situation of the camp has worsened and also due to an acute shortage of food and medicine.

It noted that the number of children killed in al-Hawl Camp since the beginning of 2019 has surpassed 260.

Earlier, the SOHR had reported that over 73,000 people are living under critical conditions at the camp.
