Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Fail to Prevail over Army Positions in Homs Province

The Damascus Army fended off two heavy offensives of the ISIL in the Eastern Badiyeh (desert) of Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists over the past 24 hours.

The Syrian Army engaged in tough battle with the ISIL terrorists who were trying to infiltrate into areas near Oweraz Dam in Eastern Badiyeh and repelled terrorists’ attacks.

The terrorists sustained heavy losses in Syrian Army’s counteroffensives.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Homs

The Syrian Army, backed up by the country’s Air Force, repelled two heavy offensives of the ISIL in the Eastern Badiyeh of Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists on Monday.

The army men engaged in a tough battle with ISIL that tried to infiltrate into regions near Oweraz Dam in Eastern Badiyeh and repelled terrorists’ attacks, inflicting major losses on them.

In the meantime, the artillery and missile units pounded ISIL’s movements in Eastern Badiyeh heavily, destroying several military vehicles and killing a number of gunmen.

Meanwhile, other army men engaged in heavy fighting with terrorists near T2 Oil Pumping Station in Southwestern Deir Ezzur, inflicting a number of casualties on the militants.

Also, the army aircraft bombed heavily ISIL’s positions and movements in Eastern Badiyeh, specially near Oweraz Dam and near the administrative border between Homs and Deir Ezzur provinces, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Quneitra-Golan Heights

The Syrian Army forces imposed full control over more villages and small towns at Quneitra border with the Israeli-occupied Golan over past 24 hours after withdrawal of militants from the region under a reconciliation deal.

The army men entered the village of Naba’a al-Sakhar in Quneitra province and hoisted Damascus flag in the region following withdrawal of militants.

Other units of the army retook control of the small towns of al-Karam, al-Roweihina and Rahina in Western Quneitra.

Local sources, meantime, said that the army men have deployed at a borderline agreed in 1974 to buffer forces following recapture of the villages of Koudneh, al-Asba’a and al-Ashah.

The sources further said that the army is planning to recapture the remaining border points in Quneitra as soon as militants retreat from the region.

Idlib

Ismael Abdulqader, a senior field commander of the ISIL, was killed along with his aides in an attack by rival terrorists in Northern Idlib on Monday.

Ismael Abdulqader nom de guerre Abu Hassan al-Neirabi, an ISIL field commander, was killed along with his aides in an attack by rival terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) along a road to the small town of Qah in Northern Idlib.

In the meantime, a gunman was killed and three more were wounded in infighting among terrorists in Qah.

Other members of Tahrir al-Sham attacked a base of the fighters of Khan Sheikhoun Consultative Assembly, killing a number of them, including one of their leaders.

Deir Ezzur

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is forwarding more fighters and military equipment to Northern Deir Ezzur after unknown raiders intensified attacks on their bases on Monday.

The SDF sent a long military convoy, including several vehicles and a large volume of military equipment to their positions near the village of Abu Neital in Northern Deir Ezzur.

The SDF’s move came after a number of unknown assailants attacked the SDF positions near the village of al-Neital.

Local sources reported that the SDF fighters opened fire at residential units in the villages of al-Nalmiyeh and Abu al-Neital.
