Syria is always ready for dialogue with those who drop arms

Walid al-Mu’allem, the Syrian foreign minister, invited the “nationalistic opposition” to drop the weapons and join talks to form a new government.

The minister said any opposition group could join a new cabinet as long as they reject foreign intervention.

He said that any discussion of President Bashar al-Assad’s future is unacceptable.

Al-Mu’allem stated that despite the continued bloodshed, the current government would continue to welcome dialogue and transition over the next three months.

The minister said, “The question is if the violence did not stop should we continue with the dialogue? I say we should”.
