Syrian-Army-702x336

Nearly a half hour after imposing full control over the villages of Tal Mamou and ‘Aziziyah in the Aleppo Governorate’s southern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, the Al-Ba’ath Battalions, and several Iraqi and Iranian paramilitary units – captured the village of Talaylat after a fierce battle with the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham.

With the capture of Talaylat, the Syrian Armed Forces, Hezbollah, and their allies have taken control three villages in less than three hours while the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham continue to retreat towards the Aleppo Governorate’s border with Idlib.

Further adding to the plight of the Islamist rebels in southern Aleppo was the announcement of Mohammad Hamdoush’s death – the aforementioned Islamist militant was the lead field commander of Liwaa Al-Mughrabi (Moroccan Brigades), which is an Al-Qaeda affiliated group (Jabhat Al-Nusra branch) that is comprised of only Moroccan combatants.

Mohammad Hamdoush joins a long-list of Islamist rebel leaders killed in this gruesome battle taking place in southern Aleppo – he is also the first Moroccan field commander killed.
