Terrorists Fail to Prevail over Syrian Army Defense Lines in Sweida

The terrorists that stormed government forces’ positions from the direction of Rakham, Karak and Um Walad in Western Dara’a managed to approach the nearby areas of al-Tha’ala airbase and al-Sheikh Hassan heights, but the Syrian army men repelled their attack, killing 20 militants and wounding several more.

Terrorists’ arms and ammunition also sustained major damage in the attack.

Al-Tha’ala airbase is located in Western Dara’a. In case al-Tha’ala and al-Darah regions are lost, the al-Tha’ala airbase will be threatened by militants, who will alos be able to threat Sweida city.

Also, Syrian soldiers targeted positions of ISIL terrorists and Fatah al-Sham Front in the Southern provinces of Sweida and Dara’a, inflicting a number of casualties on the militants.

The army soldiers targeted the gatherings and movements of ISIL terrorists in al-Qasr village, some 40 km Northeast of Sweida city, leaving a number of terrorists dead or injured and destroying two military vehicles.
