Syrian Army Gains More Land from ISIL in Deir Ezzur

Backed by Russian air strikes, the Syrian army and allies now hold over half the Deir Ezzur city, and are working to surround ISIL militants in the remaining parts, as the army seized the northern suburb of Al-Boghaliya, advancing to the adjacent western bank of the Euphrates river that slices diagonally across Deir Ezzur province.
