Syrian Army, Hezbollah make significant push towards Iraqi border

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces (NDF), made a big push into the rebel-held parts of east Damascus, Friday, targeting the Dakwah area near the Tishreen Power Plant.

According to Al-Masdar’s Damascus correspondent, Ibrahim Joudeh, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies advanced in the Dakwah area after launching a powerful assault against the Free Syrian Army (FSA) units in this desert region located east of the Syrian capital city.

Joudeh added that the Syrian Arab Army and their allies are poised to enter the Badiyah region of southeast Homs; this area is located along the Iraqi border.

Hezbollah has recently deployed a large number of soldiers to this desert front in order to aid their comrades from the Syrian Arab Army in this current operation to seal the Iraqi border and lift the siege on the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
