Zionist Israeli settlers shoot Palestinian in West Bank

A Palestinian protester has been shot in the stomach in clashes with Israeli settlers from a settlement near a village in the occupied West Bank, reports say.

The 24-year-old Palestinian was hit by a live round on Saturday as settlers from Esh Kodesh clashed with Palestinians from the village of Qusra.

Settlers threw rocks at Palestinians and destroyed their olive trees.

Two other Palestinians were also wounded after they were hit by rubber bullets fired by Israeli forces who were sent to the scene.

The clashes came as the occupied West Bank has been witnessing a rise in protests against the Tel Aviv regime and in support of the several thousand Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.

On Friday Feb. 22, Israeli forces attacked Palestinian protesters in the occupied West Bank, injuring dozens of people, who had gathered to show support for Palestinian inmates on hunger strike and to demand the release of thousands of Palestinians in Israeli jails, in the cities of Nablus and al-Khalil (Hebron)

On Thursday Feb. 21, Israeli forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse hundreds of Palestinians who had gathered at the Beitunia military checkpoint in the West Bank in solidarity with 4,500 Palestinian prisoners.
