Military sources announced on Sunday that heavy clashes erupted between the Syrian Army and the militants in Kafr Haddad near the Northern city of Aleppo, leaving at least five terrorists killed.

Following the joint massive anti-militant operation of the Syrian army, Hezbollah and popular forces, backed by the Russian airstrikes in recent days, the government forces stormed the terrorists’ gathering centers in Kafr Haddad, and killed five of them, while many others were also wounded, the sources said.

Also on Sunday, the Syrian army won back two villages in the Northern Province of Aleppo bringing the number of the liberated villages and towns in the past 24 hours to 13.

The Syrian troops retook the villages of Tal Dadin and Shalash in Aleppo countryside from the militants earlier today.

On Saturday, over eleven villages and towns were seized back in the joint operation of the Syrian army, Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the Russian air force in the Southwestern parts of Aleppo province.

Jamima, Mariameen, Hadadi, Zahra’a, Hadidah, Maraen, Hamimeyeh, Hamidah, Hamidi, al-Meshrfeh and al-Sabhiyeh villages and towns were taken back from the terrorist groups by the government forces, sources said.

The sources further added that the militants have retreated from these areas so fast that they left behind scores of dead and wounded bodies.

Battlefield sources said on Saturday that the Syrian army, backed by Hezbollah fighters and Russian warplanes, were about to start the last phase of their operations to push back the terrorists from the entire city of Aleppo and its countryside.

The source said that very good cooperation and coordination among the Syrian armed forces, Hezbollah and the Russian air force, along with widening gaps, disunity and hopelessness among the ranks of the militants, promise the imminent liberation of the Northern province of Aleppo.

In mid-October, several fighters of the Lebanese Hezbollah arrived in Aleppo to join the Syrian army to carry out a large-scale anti-militant operation in the Northern city of Aleppo in the coming days with the Russian aerial backup.

The sources said at the time that after the victories of the Syrian army and Hezbollah in Zabadani and conclusion a six-month-long ceasefire agreement with the militants in the nearby areas of Syria-Lebanon border, a 200-member group of Hezbollah fighters has been dispatched to the battlefronts in Aleppo.

The sources said that the experienced fighters of Hezbollah, the Syrian army troops and the Russia air force are to carry out a massive joint operation to recapture the Syrian city of Aleppo in the coming day.

On Saturday, Syrian Army and Hezbollah troops purged all militants from Khan Touman in the Northern province of Aleppo, and seized full control over the town after killing or wounding a large number of the terrorists.
