Syrian Army spoils Islamist offensive plans in East Ghouta

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) put an end to Jaysh Al-Islam’s large-scale offensive plans in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus on Friday after scoring several direct hits with their ground-to-ground missiles along the enemy defensive lines near Hawsh Dawahra.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard targeted Jaysh Al-Islam and Faylaq Al-Rahman’s gathering points near the farms of Hawsh Dawahra, resulting in the death of several enemy combatants.

With heavy losses sustained, Jaysh Al-Islam and Faylaq Al-Rahman were forced to flee the area in order to avoid anymore casualties.

Recently, Jaysh Al-Islam, Faylaq Al-Rahman, and Jaysh Al-Fustat ended their bitter year-long civil war in the East Ghouta after all parties suffered several setbacks along the battlefront with the Syrian Arab Army.
