Syrian Army will not halt operations in west Raqqa despite US interference

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) will not halt their operations in the western countryside of the Al-Raqqa Governorate, despite the U.S.’ recent attacks on their air force near the key town of Resafa.

“America’s aggression will not stop our mission and we (Syrian Army) will keep fighting terrorists as long as they are in Syria,” a military officer told Al-Masdar on Thursday night.

Since the U.S.’ attack on the Syrian Air Force, tensions have remained high in the western countryside of Al-Raqqa, as both the Syrian Arab Army and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have exchanged hostilities on more than one occasion.

While these issues will likely dissipate between the government and Kurdish forces in the coming days, the constant interference by the U.S. Coalition has forced the Russian military to get involved in this part of the country to ensure the former does not continue to meddle in the Syrian Army’s operations.
