Syrian Army Wins back Another Town in Eastern Aleppo

Syrian Army troops continued to hit hard ISIL’s defense lines in a region between the towns of al-Bab and Deir Hafer, taking back a small but strategic town after hours of non-stop clashes.

The army soldiers, backed up by the army’s missile units and choppers, stormed ISIL’s positions near the town of al-Oweisheh to the East of the newly-liberated town of Aran and managed to capture the town after inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Meanwhile, the army aircraft targeted a convoy of ISIL’s military vehicles in the village of Abu Jabar Kabir, destroying the convoy.

A military source said that the army’s control over al-Oweisheh has enabled the government forces to impose control over roads towards the towns in the Southern direction of al-Bab, opening a new path to move towards Deir Hafer from the East.

In relevant developments in the province on Sunday, the army men continued their heavy attacks on ISIL’s defense lines to the South of al-Bab and captured the town of Aran, killing at least 41 and wounding tens of others.

A military source said that the army soldiers carried out a complicated operation and could prevail over ISIL’s defense lines in the town of Aran.

The source further added that ISIL had planted a large number of bombs and landmines around the town and had dug long trenches and tunnels to prevent the army’s advances.

The source went on to say that ISIL used five bomb-laden suicide vehicles but could not slow down the army men’s advances.

The source pointed out that the army’s control over Aran enabled the government forces to cut off the ISIL’s supplying road connecting al-Bab to the town of Tadif, forcing ISIL to face more difficulties.
