Syrian DM: Army chasing terrorists

Syrian Defense Minister Fahd al-Freij says the army is tracking down foreign-backed Takfiri terrorists who are ‘in service of’ the Zionist regime.

Freji, during a visit to a Syrian military base on Thursday, said the Syrian army is “chasing mercenary terrorists around the clock across Syria who came from all over the world to implement colonial schemes in service of the Zionist entity.”
The Syrian minister also praised the army troops for their courage in “fighting the fiercest type of wars in history” to uproot terrorism in the country.
He also visited the soldiers who were injured in the battle against extremist groups operating in Syria.
On August 5, Freij paid a similar visit to army forces in the former militant stronghold of Khaldiyeh in Syria’s western city of Homs after they liberated the key district in late July, following weeks of heavy clashes with militants.
Over the past weeks, the Syrian army, backed by Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah, has managed to inflict major losses on anti-Damascus armed groups.
On July 5, the Syrian forces managed to regain full control of the militant-held city of al-Qusayr near the Lebanese border in the east. The strategic city served as an important center and supply route for the foreign-sponsored militants operating in the country.
