Syrian Forces Getting Ready to Launch Final Phase of Maheen Liberation Operation

Significant victories against the ISIL militants in recent days and recapturing of several villages and areas near Maheen, have laid the ground for the pro-government force to concentrate on a massive operation to regain the strategic Maheen town.

With the liberation of Maheen, the Syrian forces will only face one unconquered stronghold of the ISIL in Quayratayn toward the ancient city of Palmyra in Central Homs province.

On Saturday, the Syrian army seized strategic hills around Maheen as it continues the move to besiege the militants in the town.

Also on Saturday, the Syrian army and popular forces pushed back ISIL terrorists from areas surrounding the militant-held town of Maheen and captured the vitally important Tal Hazim al-Thalatha region.

Joint operation of the Syrian army and National Defense Forces (NDF) against the defense lines of the ISIL militants in the outskirts of Maheen ended in liberation of the strategic hilltop of Tal Hazim al-Thalatha.

The pro-government forces killed many terrorists and destroyed their military grid in their operation.
