Senior Yemeni commanders announced on Wednesday that the army and Ansarullah fighters are planning to arm the country’s tribesmen against the Saudi-led aggression.

“The Yemeni army and Ansarullah plan to arm tribesmen in a bid to help the army and popular committees in their ongoing battle against the Saudi aggression,” Yemeni Army Commander Major General Javad Al-Razi told FNA on Wednesday.

The commander pointed to Yemeni army’s contract with Russia for purchase of different weapons, including advanced tanks and missiles, and said, “The victories of the Yemeni army and fighters continue and our forces are advancing in Aden (province).”

Senior Ansarullah officials said on Wednesday they have a large number of ready-to-launch missiles and drones to strike at Saudi Arabia, warning that the Saudi aggressors should wait for the movement’s crushing response.

“This movement has hundreds of precision missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that can be used against Saudi Arabia at any time,” Mohanad Mohammad al-Salami told FNA.

He noted that the Al Saud regime has been terrified by the recent military advances of Ansarullah in Yemen because the revolutionary committees and Yemeni fighters have succeeded in cracking down on terrorists in the Southern province of Aden.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 14 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 906 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
