Lebanese Azaz Hostage Families Stage Sit-in in front of Turkish Centers

makhtoufenFor the second day in a row, the families of nine kidnapped Lebanese in Syria, staged a sit-in outside the Turkish Airlines building as well as in front of the Turkish Cultural and Economic centers, Downtown Beirut.

The protesters prevented workers from entering their offices and conducting their business after erecting a tent to protest the non-release of their sons.
Moreover, the protesters waved and set banners on the company doors, saying: “We will not open the Turkish Airlines, until the nine hostages are released.”

The families said, in their statement, that the abductees are in the Turkish intelligence hands.

They further vowed to continue their actions “which will be progressive,” and asked the interior minister in the caretaker government, Marwan Charbel, “Where are you? Why didn’t you keep your promise of protesting with us [if the hostages weren’t released]?”

In parallel, the protesters said: “Only one thing can stop us from cutting and protesting on the airport road i.e. President Michel Suleiman summons the Turkish ambassador and delivers him a strong worded message to solve this file.”

“We will fulfill our demand, even by force,” they said, and threatened that they “will continue escalation beyond what can be imagined.”
