Iran to break new technological scientific grounds soon
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the country will soon break new grounds in various fields of science and technology and will conquer new peaks.

Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate eight indigenous biotechnological achievements in Tehran on Thursday, Ahmadinejad pointed to ever-accelerating progress of technology in Iran, saying that the final product of scientific advancement should be reflected in everyday life of the Iranian nation.

He also called on Iranian experts to put their expertise at the service of Iranians and the international community, urging officials at the Iranian universities, research centers as well as the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office to firmly support Iranian specialists.

Last month, Iranian Deputy Health Minister Mostafa Ghanei said Iran ranks first in science production in the Middle East.

He attributed his remarks to the report 366 days: 2012 in review published in the Nature magazine in December 2012, and said Iran presented 20,065 journal papers in the first 11 months of last year, which amounts to 0.44 percent of top papers.

Ghanei stated that Turkey follows Iran with a total of 19,396 journal papers.

The deputy Iranian health minister also noted that Iran stands in a much better position than many Asian and European countries.
