British Foreign Secretary William Hague says London is ready to arm Syrian militants in case the conflict continues to escalate amid fears that London could be already planning an escalation by secret arming and training of the militants.

The French newspaper Le Figaru quoted a French military source as saying on Saturday that the US, Britain and French special forces have been training Syrian terrorists at a military base north of the Jordanian capital of Amman for the past months.

Last week the European Union authorized its members to send non-lethal aid to militants fighting Syrian government forces and Britain is already preparing to dispatch its first shipment to the terrorists, which is claimed to include armored cars.

With the Le Figaru report in the background, one is left wondering whether Britain is planning to directly arm Syrian militants using the new EU ruling as a well-timed cover.

Hague, who is expected to make a statement to the parliament on the ‘civilian aid’ shipment later this week, appeared to be setting the stage for official announcement of arming the militants on Saturday when he said future consignments could include weapons and ammunition if the conflict does not quell.

“I don’t rule out anything for the future. If this is going to go on for months, or years, and more tens of thousands of people are going to die, and countries like Iraq and Lebanon and Jordan are going to be destabilized, it is not something we can ignore,” the Foreign Secretary told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show.

This comes as puzzle pieces look to be coming together nicely when the new developments are considered in the light of a recent revelation that a British defense contractor is planning chemical weapons false flag attacks in Syria.

Documents allegedly “hacked” from British-based defense contractor Britam showed back in January that the company has been considering an offer from Qatar to use Soviet-era Libyan chemical weapons in Homs, Syria, in order to frame both the Syrian and Russian governments.

Such a scenario will give London the escalation it wants to begin officials arms shipments to Syrian militants.

Britain and its regional and western allies have also been repeatedly accused of arming and training Syrian terrorists and even exporting mercenaries to Syria in an attempt to topple Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s government, even before the Le Figaru report.

Assad did raise that point in an interview with the Sunday Times this week.

“The British government wants to send military aid to moderate groups in Syria, knowing all too well that such moderate groups do not exist in Syria; we all know that we are now fighting al-Qaida or Jabhat al-Nusra, which is an offshoot of al-Qaida, and other groups of people indoctrinated with extreme ideologies. This is beyond hypocritical,” Assad said.
