The affluent should unsubscribe from subsidies

The head of president’s office has called the rich to voluntarily abandon receiving subsidies.

Mehr News quoted Mohammad Nahavandian addressing the meeting of representatives of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce , Industry and Mines saying that entrepreneurs would understand the meaning of ‘nuclear conquest’, since “ they would find themselves in a wider field where great opportunities for job creation and economic activity are provided for them to exploit.”

Nahavandian believed that providing subsidies for the poor and vulnerable social classes would be quite distinct from a charity work. “We do not believe that charity economy would be healing, since we believe that providing capacities for individuals should be in the agenda so that individuals have jobs which enable them to have a modest income,” he added.

“The implementation of targeted subsidy plan in a distorted fashion did provide subsidies to the vulnerable classes, but it contributed to the problems as well, which should be corrected,” Nahavandian pointed out. “The public demands that government to identify and unsubscribe the higher income deciles, but we believe that the better solution is that these higher income classes voluntarily abandon receiving subsidies, thus providing the government with more cash,” he asserted.

He expressed hope a day would come when job opportunities made people capable of managing their lives. He called entrepreneurs to be the pioneer in the movement thus providing the government with more cash and resource to effectively support the poor.

“Boosting investments is a great step forward which would be taken by the entrepreneurs so that they can convert the inflationary recession to a stable growth rate,” Nahavandian said, and that “the government is committed to provision of legal bases for proper fiscal, financial and tax-related policies, and entrepreneurs would be innovative to create jobs for unemployed university graduates.”

Nahavandian emphasized that the nuclear negotiators should take pride at the nation’s support. “They should not rely on anything except their people. However, they expect supports from the people, since people’s supports provide them with strength and innovation,” he said.

He called the representatives of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce to express full support for nuclear negotiators and government diplomatic innovation, which the absolute majority of the meeting raised their hands to support the government’s diplomatic attempts.
